UPDATE
Melinda had a good night. Her vitals were steady through the night. During the early morning hours the neurosurgeons assessed Melinda and decided to clamp her catheter that is inserted in her brain. They wanted to see if Melinda's pressure in her brain would remain normal. They watched Melinda very closely. Not sure how long the clamp was on but Melinda's pressure began to rise. The clamp was immediately removed to allow the pressure to come down. This morning around 8:30 the neurosurgeons assessed Melinda. They wanted to test to see if she would respond to a command. The neurosurgeon asked Melinda to hold up her thumb several times. Melinda moved her left hand and we believe she tried to raise her thumb. We are very hopeful and excited with her progress. Physical therapy also worked with Melinda this morning. Around 10:30 a.m. the neurosurgeons came back to assess Melinda and decided to clamp the catheter. They will monitor her very closely today.
