Update

5/12/09

This morning we arrived at the hospital to see Melinda. The nurse informed us that the trachea was damaged and had been replaced early this morning. The trauma doctors decided to leave Melinda on the ventilator today since the procedure was tiring for her. Melinda's vitals remained stable throughout the day.

The trauma doctors were making their daily rounds and they thought Melinda was a little unresponsive today. The trauma doctors ordered another CT Scan on Melinda's brain to make sure everything was okay. The nurse informed us that the results were not in and could be in this evening.

Melinda's parents toured a long term facility today. We will be touring other facilities to find the right one for Melinda. We want to give Melinda the best chance for a full recovery. While we were at the facility Melinda's grandma was sitting with her and got to see Melinda yawn a couple of times.
