Update

5/10/09

Melinda had a really good night. Melinda is taking baby steps everyday to heal her body. Melinda's breaths per minute is a little high but the nurse assures us that it comes down on its own. Melinda's nurse says they are monitoring her closely. Melinda was taken off the ventilator this afternoon and was breathing on her own for 3 1/2 hours and that is 30 minutes longer than yesterday. We are very excited! Melinda's lungs are getting stronger each day. The nurse said we could talk a little bit to Melinda. We are excited since we have not been able to talk to her since the accident because of the pressure on her brain and her heart rate going to high. Melinda's nurse says she can hear you and she needs to hear her momma's voice. I told Melinda how much she is loved and that god is healing her body and to keep fighting to get well so she can come home.
